EQUIPPING NEW ENTREPRENEURS

The TOLI Business Basics Course is provided to every new client receiving a microloan. Through this customized, interactive, Biblically-based curriculum, clients learn to successfully manage a business, repay their loan, contribute to their community, and experience transformation that lasts.

Throughout training sessions, TOLI Social Workers and volunteer facilitators engage new entrepreneurs through lively group discussions, workbook activities, and even fun skits and games.

THE Curriculum

Our curriculum is tailored to non-literate or low-literacy learners, translated into two different languages (Arabic and Amharic), and contextualized for local culture. Upon completion of the course, clients are equipped in the areas of:

> Customer service
> Marketing
> Supply and demand
> Product value and pricing
> Calculating profit and loss
> Goal-setting
> Record keeping
> Budget building
> The importance of saving
> Ethical practices
> Decision-making
> Leadership

While this training equips clients with basic business skills, it’s more than just a business course. It’s training that transforms both the mind and the heart. While digging into basic business principles, TOLI Social Workers walk with clients in spiritual discipleship by integrating worship, biblical foundations, and explorations of identity, worth, capacity, and creativity.
